Private and religious education
Private and religious education are also offered in Claremore. The First Baptist Church operates a kindergarten through 6th grade school and the Claremore Christian School provides pre-kindergarden through 12th grade school. Church of Christ operates Hope Harbor, a 6th through 11th grade academy for at risk students. A Lutheran church in the city operates a preschool for 3-5 year-olds. The Presbyterian church in Claremore has a preschool for 3-5 year old.
Claremore Public Schools Foundation
Claremore community members are committed to education and established the Claremore Public Schools Foundation in 1988 to assist schools in improving the quality of education. The foundation provides funds for programs, projects and equipment that create enthusiasm for teaching and excitement for learning.
College & Universities
Claremore is also the hometown of Rogers State University, one of the fastest growing universities in Oklahoma. Within 30 miles of the community is the Spartan College of Aeronautics, University of Tulsa, Oral Roberts University, University of Oklahoma-Tulsa, Oklahoma State University-Tulsa, and Tulsa Community College.
Rogers State University
Rogers State University (RSU) began as a preparatory school in 1909, became a military academy in 1923, and has been a highly respected university since 1999. It is one of the most rapidly growing university campuses in Northeastern Oklahoma with campuses in Claremore, Bartlesville and Pryor. The University offers 2-year and 4-year degrees in a wide variety of fields including Nursing, Information Technology, Business and Liberal Arts.
RSU is a pioneer in online and distance learning through eCollege and compressed video courses. RSU also has a radio and television station on the Claremore campus that allows students to apply their newly learned skills to real-world business situations. Rogers State University
Northeast Technology Center
Northeast Technology Center offers a variety of full time programs which provide training in a number of career choices. The Technology Center’s goal is to teach students a skill and prepare them for jobs.
Four area campus sites, including a new campus at 1801 North Hwy 88, Claremore, currently serve high school students and adults with full-time programs and a full range of short-term adult evening classes. Northeast Technology Center
